Artemis Intelligent Power is the global leader in Digital Displacement hydraulics – a fundamental innovation which offers a radical increase in efficiency and control for a wide range of applications.

Once adopted, our technology will bring significant reductions in CO2 emissions in whichever sector it is used.

Our core technology – a highly flexible, digitally-controlled hydraulic pump – was invented by us, here in Edinburgh. It has applications from off-highway vehicles to road transport and industrial machines.

It can be delivered as a ‘straight swap’ for conventional hydraulic pumps, or can be integrated in new ways, bringing system-wide benefits including improved control and reduced fuel consumption.

Artemis is working closely with our majority owner Danfoss Power Solutions to further develop our core technology and bring a number of ground-breaking, sector-specific applications to the off-highway, industrial and rail markets.

Our capabilities

For more than a decade Artemis Intelligent Power has been developing Digital Displacement® hydraulics, a unique patented technology with applications as diverse as renewable energy, rail and off-road machinery. With a 50-strong team based in a busy and expanding 3000m2 research and manufacturing facility near Edinburgh, the firm is working closely with a major Tier 1 manufacturer of hydraulic components, and multiple OEMs of construction and material handling equipment, on collaborative projects to bring their technology to market.
The company has a strong R&D function including development and test rigs from 250kW to 4MW, alongside an independent manufacturing group certified to ISO9001 for the production of components for Artemis Digital Displacement® pumps and motors. Artemis is qualified as a supplier to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the supply of valves and control systems for their 7MW wind turbine project.
